At Benchmade, we believe in your right to repair, and we stand behind our knives for life. That’s why we offer self-service part replacement for eligible models and cover most internal repairs under our warranty, as long as the knife hasn’t been disassembled or had its tolerances altered.
If a part fails due to a manufacturing defect, we’ll replace it at no cost. When a part falls outside of warranty coverage—due to modification, wear, or accidental damage—we still aim to keep your knife in top condition with transparent pricing and expert support.
Our Warranty Covers Internal Repairs
The majority of internal components, including springs, washers, liners, and spacers, are covered under warranty and must be installed by our technicians. We do not send internal parts for safety and precision reasons, but we’re happy to service your knife in-house.

Consumable Materials
Through regular use and sharpening, blade steel and scales naturally wear over time. This is expected—even with premium materials—and does not indicate a manufacturing defect.
If your blade becomes chipped, dulled, or broken at the tip, don’t worry:
-
Most damage can be sharpened out through our Lifesharp Service
-
If a full replacement is truly needed, we’ll contact you for approval before proceeding
Please note: Blades and handle scales are not sold separately. For safety and quality assurance, blade replacements can only be completed by Benchmade technicians at our facility.
Handle & Blade Replacement Costs (Non-Warranty)
If your repair falls outside of warranty coverage, here’s what to expect:
-
Blades: Priced at approximately 30% of the original MSRP, due to the complexity and production time involved
-
Handles: Replacement availability varies by model; pricing depends on material and inventory
-
Installation: Always included—we never ship blades or handles as standalone parts

Free Exterior Parts (Self-Repair)
For eligible models, we offer free self-repair parts you can install at home:
-
Pocket clips & screws
-
Handle screws
-
Male portion of the pivot screw
-
Thumb stud (if applicable)
